I have devoted most of my life to understanding the principles that enable people to improve their lives…. I’m dedicated to fighting for that vision. I’m convinced most Americans believe it’s worth fighting for, too.

What drives long-term human flourishing? What characteristics of a society give individuals—especially those least fortunate among us—the best opportunities to improve their lives?
At the Charles Koch Institute and Charles Koch Foundation, these questions motivate our mission.
History demonstrates that certain fundamental ideas, institutions, and values are best suited to bringing about maximum peace, prosperity, and well-being. Those societies that most closely approximate these ideals have seen the greatest progress in terms of individual and societal well-being.
To share our vision and invite partnership, we’ve developed the Framework for a Free Society.
The Framework consists of five interrelated dimensions that describe the ideas, values, and institutions that enable societies to flourish and that give people the best opportunities to pursue and achieve happiness. By applying these ideas to problems and opportunities, we can help individuals improve their lives.
